About Liberland
The Free Republic of Liberland is a sovereign state on the Danube River between Serbia and Croatia. Founded on 13 April 2015, it is the first meritocratic republic governed on the blockchain.
Liberland Merits (LLMs) represent each citizen's stake in the country. With sovereign land, no bureaucracy, and voluntary taxes, Liberland uses Bitcoin alongside the Liberland Dollar (LLD) as currencies of choice.

Liberland has an open-source government that maximizes the freedom of its citizens. It is the first nation to draft its constitution alongside its governance platform, the Liberland Blockchain.
All legislation is encoded on-chain β transparent, immutable, and publicly auditable by any citizen anywhere in the world.
Congress elections are held every 90 days, entirely on-chain. LLM holders vote directly or delegate to representatives they trust.
No compulsory taxes, no mandatory service. Liberland's constitution guarantees that every citizen's participation is entirely voluntary.
