No. Liberland is a self-declared, unrecognized micronation. Its passport and documents do not function as internationally valid travel or identity documents, and are not recognized by any UN member state. Liberland citizenship is best understood as community membership rather than legal nationality.
The online application itself takes roughly 10–15 minutes to complete. After submission, Liberland's Ministry of Interior reviews it — typically within 2–3 weeks — and you'll receive an email with the outcome.

E-Residency lets you register a company, hold assets, and trade on the Liberland Market under Liberland's economic framework, without full citizenship. Citizenship includes E-Residency's benefits plus a naturalization certificate, LLM governance tokens, and voting and participation rights.
No — if you've already completed E-Residency and want to upgrade, you can acquire citizenship by staking the required LLM through the contribution process instead of starting a new application from scratch.
No. Application data is shared across Liberland's websites, so anything you submitted previously remains available.
LLM is Liberland's governance token, not a financial instrument. Every new citizen receives 10,000 LLM upon naturalization, and it determines your voting weight in Liberland's on-chain democracy. LLM cannot be purchased on an exchange — it can only be earned through contribution.
A minimum stake of Liberland Merits, alongside a completed, KYC-verified E-Residency application, is one recognized path to citizenship. The exact amount awarded for any given contribution is negotiated individually based on scope and skillset.
No. Citizenship and LLM are not financial investments. Liberland does not promise any monetary return, and LLM tokens are not listed on exchanges. The Liberland Dollar (LLD) is a separate, tradable token and carries the usual risks of any cryptocurrency.
LLM holders can vote directly on proposed legislation and in quarterly Congress elections, or delegate their voting weight to a representative they trust — all recorded on the Liberland Blockchain.
Yes. Citizens can apply through the settlement programme. EU passport holders can enter for short stays without registering in Croatia; non-EU nationals follow a separate process involving Croatian authorities. Contact border@liberland.site for details.
