Liberland's community spans continents rather than a single territory. Its culture is voluntary and open by design — held together by shared principles rather than nationalism, and expressed through diaspora villages, annual gatherings, and a growing network of representative offices.
A voluntary identity
Because Liberland's citizens live all over the world, its culture doesn't rest on a shared homeland the way a traditional nation's does. Instead, it's built around a common set of principles: individual liberty, voluntary cooperation, and free enterprise — the same ideas enshrined in the constitution.
The community intentionally avoids compulsory symbols of national identity. Citizens are free to keep their existing nationality, language, and traditions; what unites them is a shared choice to participate, not an assigned identity. That voluntary bond is expressed through the diaspora villages and events described below, and through the day-to-day work of Liberland's 77 representative offices worldwide.
Where the community gathers
Liberland citizens have established more than ten diaspora villages around the world — physical communities where members can live, meet, and build together. Two of the best known sit just across the border from Liberland's own territory, on the Serbian bank of the Danube.
An eco-village near Apatin, Serbia, built around sustainable living and circular-economy principles. Residents share access to lakefront land and a community arboretum, alongside restaurants, a lounge bar, and local, organic food production. Serbia's nearby Apatin Free Trade Zone offers a tax-friendly environment for settlers exploring residency there.
A community of houseboats, available for sale or rent, fostering the same libertarian, free-market culture on the water. It's one of the more literal expressions of Liberland's voluntary-tax philosophy — a floating neighbourhood flying the Liberland flag.
Liberland's base of operations in Serbia, also called Ark Liberland Village. It's where settlers, staff, and volunteers coordinate day-to-day work on the territory just across the water.
Beyond the villages, 77 representative offices — from Dubai to Manila — act as local hubs for citizens and prospective citizens to connect, host meetups, and represent Liberland's interests abroad.
The annual gathering
Liberland's flagship cultural event is the Floating Man Festival, held each year at Ark Liberland Village near Apatin. Over several days, citizens, prospective citizens, and curious visitors gather for informal talks on liberty and governance, live music, and simply spending time with a community that otherwise lives scattered across the globe.
It's also where some of Liberland's political and strategic announcements are made each year, in a relaxed, festival-style setting rather than a formal chamber.
